Message on Defence and Martyrs Day – 6th September 2025

6th September, the Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan, is an inspiring chapter of our history. On this day, we, as a proud nation, pay glowing tributes to our valiant Armed Forces and resilient people who have always defended the frontiers with unshakeable faith and matchless courage. The spirit of sacrifice demonstrated in 1965 has become an eternal beacon, guiding our future generations in times of trial and challenge.

This year’s 6th September carries with it added significance, as we recall the recent Marka-e-Haq. Like in 1965, our brave sons of the soil once again displayed unparalleled valour and devotion to duty during the Operation Bunyanum Marsoos against India in May 2025. Their professionalism, fighting skills and war readiness on land, in the air, and at sea, assured us that Pakistan’s defence is impregnable as it is backed by the undying spirit of its people, and the unwavering resolve of its Armed Forces.

As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, I take pride in reaffirming our national commitment towards continuous upgradation and modernisation of Pakistan’s defence capability. In an era marked by hybrid and 5th Generation Warfare where disinformation, propaganda, and psychological operations are employed as weapons, it is imperative that we strengthen not only our military arsenal but also our information and communication systems. The pillars of our state and the people, especially our youth, must remain vigilant and united to counter these modern-day threats with wisdom, resilience, and unity.

The longstanding dispute of Jammu and Kashmir remains at the core of instability in the region. Without its just resolution, in line with the UN’s Security Council resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people, peace will remain elusive. Furthermore, the heart-wrenching tragedy of Palestine compels us to demand an end to genocide and oppression against the Palestinian people. The world must stand firm for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, as the only path to lasting peace in the Middle East.

Lastly, on this Defence and Martyrs Day, let us renew our pledge to remain steadfast, resilient, and united so that the sacrifices of Shuhada are honoured, our defence remains unbreachable, and our future generations inherit a strong, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan. The families of the Shuhada are our pride, and the sacrifices of the Ghazis are our sacred trust. The Spirit of September shall continue to reflect in our Armed Forces’ fearlessness and in our nation’s resilience. No challenge can deter us from the path of self-respect and sovereignty.

یومِ دفاع و شہداء پر  پیغام

‎  ستمبر06، پاکستان کا یومِ دفاع و شہداء، ہماری تاریخ کا ایک حوصلہ افزا باب ہے۔ اس دن، ہم ایک قابلِ فخر قوم کے طور پر  اپنی بہادر مسلح افواج اور ثابت قدم عوام کو زبردست خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتے ہیں جنہوں نے ہمیشہ اپنی سرحدوں کا غیر متزلزل ایمان اور بے مثال بہادری کے ساتھ دفاع کیا۔ 1965 کی قربانیوں کا جذبہ ایک لازوال روشنی بن چکا ہے، جو ہماری آئندہ نسلوں کو ہر آزمائش اور چیلنج کے دوران رہنمائی فراہم کرتا ہے۔
‎اس سال 6 ستمبر معرکہ ء حق کی وجہ سے خاص اہمیت رکھتا ہے ، جیسے 1965 میں ہماری بہادر افواج نے بے مثال حوصلہ اور فرض شناسی  کا مظاہرہ کیا، اسی طرح مئی 2025 میں بھارت کے خلاف آپریشن "بنیان المرصوص" کے دوران ہمارے بہادر سپوتوں نے ایک بار پھر بے مثال جرأت اور جانفشانی کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ ان کی پیشہ ورانہ مہارت، جنگی صلاحیتیں اور زمینی، فضائی اور سمندری سطح پر جنگ کی  تیاریاں یہ ثابت کرتی ہیں کہ پاکستان کا دفاع ناقابل تسخیر ہے، کیونکہ اس کی بنیاد عوام کے ازلی جذبے اور مسلح افواج کی غیر متزلزل عزم پر ہے۔
‎بطور سپریم کمانڈر، میں پاکستان کی دفاعی صلاحیتوں کو مسلسل اپ گریڈ کرنے اور جدید بنانے کے عزم کا اعادہ کرتا ہوں۔ اس دور میں، جہاں ہائبرڈ اور پانچویں نسل کی جنگیں، غلط معلومات، پروپیگنڈا اور نفسیاتی آپریشنز کو ہتھیار کے طور پر استعمال کیا جاتا ہے، یہ ضروری ہے کہ ہم نہ صرف اپنی فوجی طاقت کو بڑھائیں بلکہ اپنے معلوماتی اور ابلاغی نظام کو بھی مستحکم کریں۔ ریاست کے ستون اور عوام، خاص طور پر ہماری نوجوان نسل، کو ان جدید خطرات کا مقابلہ حکمت، استقامت اور اتحاد کے ساتھ کرنے کے لیے چوکنا اور متحد رہنا ہوگا۔
‎جموں و کشمیر کا دیرینہ تنازعہ خطے میں عدم استحکام کی جڑ ہے۔ اس کا منصفانہ حل، جو اقوام متحدہ کی سلامتی کونسل کی قراردادوں اور کشمیری عوام کی خواہشات کے مطابق ہو، خطے میں امن کا واحد راستہ ہے۔ مزید برآں، فلسطین کے دلخراش سانحے نے ہمیں فلسطینی عوام کے خلاف نسل کشی اور مظالم کے خاتمے کا مطالبہ کرنے پر مجبور کیا ہے۔ دنیا کو فلسطین کی آزاد ریاست کے قیام کے لیے مضبوط موقف اختیار کرنا چاہیے، جس کا دارالحکومت القدس الشریف ہو، کیونکہ یہ ہی مشرقِ وسطیٰ میں دیرپا امن کا واحد راستہ ہے۔
‎آئیے!آخر میں، اس یومِ دفاع و شہداء پر یہ عہد کریں کہ ہم ثابت قدم، باہمت اور متحد رہیں گے تاکہ شہداء کی قربانیوں کو توقیر ملے ، ہمارا دفاع ناقابل تسخیر رہے اور ہماری آئندہ نسلوں کو ایک مضبوط، خوشحال اور پرامن پاکستان ورثے میں ملے۔ شہداء کے خاندان ہماری عزت ہیں اور غازیوں کی قربانیاں ہماری مقدس امانت ہیں۔ ستمبر کا جذبہ ہمیشہ ہماری مسلح افواج کی بے خوفی اور ہماری قوم کی استقامت میں جھلکے گا۔ کوئی بھی چیلنج ہمیں خودداری اور خودمختاری کے راستے سے منحرف نہیں کر سکتا۔
