Doha, November 4, 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari met with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar.

President Zardari said that Pakistan greatly values its multifaceted relationship with Tajikistan, rooted in shared history, culture, and linguistic affinity. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, energy, defence, and people-to-people exchanges.

The President noted that the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in 2024 reflects the growing depth of ties between the two countries. He welcomed the resumption of work on the CASA-1000 project, terming it a flagship initiative for shared prosperity, and invited Tajikistan to explore new avenues of trade and connectivity through Pakistan, including the possibility of restoring direct flights.

President Zardari also commended the successful Dosti-II joint military exercise held in August 2025 and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to assist Tajikistan in defence cooperation and capacity building.

The President of Tajikistan invited President Zardari to visit Tajikistan, which the President accepted.

The two leaders also shared perspectives on regional and global issues of common concern. 

The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.

صدر زرداری نے 2024 میں دستخط شدہ اسٹریٹجک پارٹنرشپ معاہدے کو دونوں ممالک کے تعلقات میں گہرائی کا مظہر قرار دیا۔

صدرِ مملکت نے تاجکستان کو پاکستان کے ذریعے تجارت اور روابط کے نئے مواقع تلاش کرنے اور براہِ راست پروازوں کی بحالی پر غور کی دعوت دی۔

صدر زرداری نے اگست 2025 میں ہونے والی مشترکہ فوجی مشق “دوستی-II” کو سراہا اور دفاعی تعاون و استعداد کار میں معاونت کی پیشکش کی۔

دونوں رہنماؤں نے خطے اور عالمی امور پر بھی تبادلہ خیال کیا۔

تاجکستان کے صدر نے صدرِ مملکت آصف علی زرداری کو تاجکستان کے دورے کی دعوت دی، صدرِ مملکت نے دعوت قبول کرلی۔

خاتون اول بی بی آصفہ بھٹو زرداری، چیئرمین پیپلز پارٹی بلاول بھٹو زرداری  اور پاکستان کے قطر میں سفیر بھی ملاقات میں موجود تھے
