Message on the Minorities Day – 11 August, 2025

Today, as we observe Minorities Day, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding and advancing the rights of minorities. This day reflects Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of a Pakistan where every citizen lives in equality, harmony, and mutual respect.

It is also an occasion to acknowledge the contributions of our minority communities to nation-building. They have served the country with dedication in the armed forces, judiciary, civil services, education, and healthcare.
Their patriotism and service remain a source of pride for the entire nation.

The Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan guarantees equal rights to all citizens, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, or colour. It safeguards the legitimate interests of minorities, ensuring their political, economic, religious, social, and cultural rights. 

Pakistan stands resolutely against all forms of discrimination, extremism, and religious intolerance. We remain determined to build a society free from prejudice—one that embraces diversity as a strength and is anchored in mutual respect, interfaith harmony, and shared progress.

Pakistan has taken a number of measures for the welfare and empowerment of minorities. These include the establishment of the National Commission for Minorities, allocation of Minorities Welfare Fund, restoration and preservation of places of worship, and provision of scholarships and financial assistance to minority students. In 2009, during my first tenure as President of Pakistan, the government declared 11th August as Minorities Day to reaffirm our national commitment to equality, inclusion, and the recognition of minority rights. We continue to promote interfaith dialogue and ensure meaningful participation of minorities in every sphere of national life.

On this day, we renew our resolve to work for the empowerment and advancement of minority communities. We will continue our efforts to promote interfaith harmony, brotherhood, and unity to build an inclusive and prosperous Pakistan.

آج اقلیتوں کے دن  کے موقع پر ، ہم  اقلیتوں کے حقوق کے تحفظ اور ان کو فروغ دینے کے اپنے عزم کا اعادہ کرتے ہیں۔ یہ دن قائداعظم محمد علی جناح کے اُس تصور کی یاد دہانی کراتا ہے جس میں پاکستان کے ہر شہری کو برابری، ہم آہنگی اور باہمی احترام کے ساتھ زندگی گزارنے کا حق حاصل ہے۔
 یہ قوم کی تشکیل میں ہماری اقلیتی برادریوں کی خدمات اور کردار  کے اعتراف  کا  موقع بھی  ہے۔  انہوں نے مسلح افواج، عدلیہ، سول سروسز، تعلیم اور صحت کے شعبوں میں عزم ، ولولے اور لگن کے ساتھ ملک کی خدمت انجام دی ہے۔
 ان کی حب الوطنی اور خدمات پوری قوم کے لیے باعث افتخار ہیں۔

 اسلامی جمہوریہ پاکستان کا آئین تمام شہریوں کو بلا تفریق مذہب، ذات پات، نسل یا رنگ کے مساوی حقوق کی ضمانت دیتا ہے۔  یہ اقلیتوں کے سیاسی، اقتصادی، مذہبی، سماجی اور ثقافتی حقوق کو یقینی بناتے ہوئے ان کے جائز مفادات کا تحفظ کرتا ہے۔ 

 پاکستان ہر قسم کے امتیاز، انتہا پسندی اور مذہبی عدم برداشت کے خلاف  ثابت قدمی  سے پرعزم ہے۔  ہم تعصب سے پاک ایک ایسے معاشرے کی تشکیل کا تہیہ کئے ہوئے ہیں جہاں معاشرتی تنوع کو طاقت سمجھا جائے اور جو باہمی احترام، بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی اور مشترکہ ترقی کی بنیاد پر قائم ہو۔
 پاکستان نے اقلیتوں کی فلاح و بہبود اور انہیں بااختیار بنانے کے لیے متعدد اقدامات اٹھائے ہیں۔  ان میں اقلیتوں کے قومی کمیشن کا قیام، مینارٹیز ویلفیئر  فنڈ مختص کرنا، عبادت گاہوں کی بحالی اور تحفظ اور اقلیتی طلباء کو وظائف اور مالی معاونت کی فراہمی شامل ہے۔ 2009 میں، صدر پاکستان کی حیثیت سے میری پہلی مدت کے دوران ، حکومت نے  اقلیتوں کے حقوق  کے  تحفظ، برابری اور ہم آہنگی کے لئے اپنی  قومی وابستگی کے عزم کا اعادہ کرتے ہوئے 11 اگست کو اقلیتوں کے دن کے طور پر منانے کا اعلان کیا ۔  ہم بین المذاہب مکالمے کو فروغ دینا جاری رکھیں گے اور قومی زندگی کے ہر شعبے میں اقلیتوں کی بامعنی شرکت کو یقینی بنائیں گے۔
آج کے دن، ہم اپنے  اس عزم کی تجدید کرتے ہیں کہ  اقلیتی برادریوں کو بااختیار بنانے اور ان کی ترقی اور فلاح  کے لیے کام کرتے رہیں گے۔ ہم ایک متنوع  اور خوشحال پاکستان کی تشکیل کے لیے بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی، بھائی چارے اور  یکجہتی کے فروغ کے لیے اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھیں گے۔
