Today marks the fourth death anniversary of the iconic Kashmiri leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani — a towering figure, whose lifelong struggle, resilience, and sacrifices continue to inspire all those who believe in justice and self-determination.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani devoted his entire life to the just cause of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. His unflinching resolve, moral courage, and steadfast commitment in the face of relentless persecution stand as a beacon of hope and resilience. He remained unwavering in his principles, despite decades of incarceration, house arrest, and personal suffering.

His clarity of vision and steadfast stance energized generations of Kashmiris, especially the youth, encouraging them to stand firm in their demand for freedom. His life was a testimony to dignity, sacrifice, and truth, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of freedom-loving people across the world.

As we honour the memory of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and the countless sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, Pakistan reiterates its firm and resolute support for their just and legitimate struggle. We will continue to extend our moral, political, and diplomatic support to the brave people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir until they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination, as guaranteed by the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

May Allah Almighty elevate the status of Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Jannat-ul-Firdous and grant strength and steadfastness to the brave people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the face of continued hardship and oppression. Ameen!
