Shaoshan, Hunan, China: 28 April 2026 — President Asif Ali Zardari visited Shaoshan, hometown of Chairman Mao Zedong, where he laid a wreath at the statue of Chairman Mao at Statue Square and paid tribute to China’s revolutionary leader. 

The President was received by Mr Li Jiyang, Senior party leader of Xiangtan People’s Congress and Ms Zhang Xihui, Director of the Shaoshan Administration Bureau of Hunan Province, who apprised him of the life and struggle of Chairman Mao Zedong, highlighting his early years in Shaoshan and the influences that shaped his political thought. 

The President was also briefed on the role of the memorial institutions in preserving historical material and promoting public understanding of China’s revolutionary history.

Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the President visited the Mao Zedong Memorial Museum, where he was briefed on the life, thought and political legacy of the founding leader of the People’s Republic of China. He viewed historical artefacts, archival material and exhibits documenting key phases of China’s revolutionary history.

President Zardari paid tribute to Chairman Mao Zedong’s role in China’s historical transformation and acknowledged his contribution to the country’s struggle, unity and development. He noted that the preservation of such sites offers insight into the forces that shaped modern China and underscores the importance of historical memory in national progress.

The President was accompanied, among others, by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla; Sindh senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Ali Hassan Brohi; Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Investment and Public-Private Partnership Projects; Chief Secretary Sindh; China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong; and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi.

شاؤشان، ہُونان، چین: 28 اپریل 2026 — صدر آصف علی زرداری نے چیئرمین ماؤ زے تُنگ کے آبائی شہر شاؤشان کا دورہ کیا، جہاں انہوں نے اسٹیچو اسکوائر میں چیئرمین ماؤ کے مجسمے پر پھولوں کا گلدستہ رکھا اور چین کے انقلابی رہنما کو خراجِ عقیدت پیش کیا۔

صدر کا استقبال سینئر پارٹی رہنما لی جیانگ اور ڈائریکٹر شاؤشان ایڈمنسٹریشن ژانگ شی ہوئی نے کیا۔ انہوں نے صدر کو چیئرمین ماؤ زے تُنگ کی زندگی اور جدوجہد سے آگاہ کیا اور شاؤشان میں ان کے ابتدائی دور اور ان عوامل پر روشنی ڈالی جنہوں نے ان کی سیاسی سوچ کو تشکیل دیا۔

صدر کو اس بات پر بھی بریفنگ دی گئی کہ اس طرح کےیادگاری ادارے تاریخی مواد کو محفوظ رکھنے اور چین کی انقلابی تاریخ سے متعلق عوامی آگاہی بڑھانے میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں۔

اسٹیچو اسکوائر  پر ہونے والی تقریب کے بعد صدر نے ماؤ زے تُنگ میموریل میوزیم کا دورہ کیا، جہاں انہیں عوامی جمہوریہ چین کے بانی رہنما کی زندگی، فکر اور سیاسی ورثے سے متعلق آگاہ کیا گیا۔ انہوں نے تاریخی نوادرات، ریکارڈ اور تصاویر دیکھیں جن میں چین کی انقلابی تاریخ کے اہم مراحل کو پیش کیا گیا تھا۔

صدر آصف علی زرداری نے چیئرمین ماؤ زے تُنگ کے چین کی تاریخی تبدیلی میں کردار کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کیا اور عوامی جمہوریہ چین کی جدوجہد، اتحاد اور ترقی میں ان کی خدمات کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ایسے مقامات کا تحفظ جدید چین کی تشکیل میں کردار ادا کرنے والے عوامل کو سمجھنے میں مدد دیتا ہے اور قومی ترقی میں تاریخی شعور کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کرتا ہے۔

صدر کے ہمراہ دیگر کے علاوہ سینیٹر سلیم مانڈوی والا، سندھ کے سینئر وزیر شرجیل انعام میمن، علی حسن بروہی، وزیر اعلیٰ سندھ کے معاونِ خصوصی برائے سرمایہ کاری و پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ پراجیکٹس سید قاسم نوید قمر، چیف سیکرٹری سندھ، پاکستان میں چین کے سفیر جیانگ زائی دونگ اور چین میں پاکستان کے سفیر خلیل ہاشمی بھی موجود تھے۔
