ISLAMABAD, Feb 13 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday highlighting the rapid changes facing the world, ranging from geopolitical shifts and hybrid threats to cybersecurity, reiterated that, amidst all such challenges, Pakistan stood ready to work with all nations to build understanding, peace and sustainable development.

 

The president, during the interactive session with the participants of the 6th International Workshop for Leadership and Stability 2026, felicitated them at the conclusion of the workshop. The workshop was attended by around 100 participants, including 69 hailing from different 49 countries. 

 

Calling the leadership and stability the pillars of nations and institutions, the president highlighted that the world was currently facing rapid changes, with geopolitical shifts, emerging security threats and the growing role of technology in governance. 

 

“Security is no longer only about conventional conflicts. It includes cybersecurity, hybrid threats and information challenges. At the same time, climate change, resource scarcity and disinformation cross borders, demanding collaborative solutions,” the president emphasized in his address.

 

President Zardari urged the participants of the workshop to translate discussions into real-world solutions, choosing dialogue over division and cooperation over conflict. 

 

He commended the National Defence University (NDU) for organising this important forum and termed that such workshops bring together policymakers, diplomats, military officials, academics and private sector leaders. 

 

President Zardari said that such forums offered a valuable space to discuss leadership and stability. “I hope these insights reach a broader audience across our institutions and society,” he said.

 

He extended his gratitude to the organisers, participants and NDU for making this workshop possible, and expressed the hope that their discussions would become insightful, collaborations lasting and time spent here meaningful.

 

Responding to the questions by the participants, President Zardari said that Pakistan was working close with many countries in the region and was ready to strengthen workforce with bilateral technological advancement. 

 

He emphasised that interaction between Serbia and Pakistan should be enhanced and said that Pakistan desired to work with Serbia and undertake enhanced interaction between think-tanks, industry and academia of both nations. 

 

Replying another query, he said Pakistan and the world have no choice but to cooperate as all are interwoven; facing crosscutting issues. 

 

President Zardari said the 18th Constitutional Amendment was meant to guide the nation to ensure its sustainable future and survival as it honored public sentiment and ownership of the decisions made by the masses pertaining to the national wealth. 

 

"Pakistan believes that every country had its national interest. We do not encourage war and conflicts among nations rather promote repeated dialogue to resolve issues. Our region is volatile but I am hopeful that no conflict triggers in the region," he said.

 

Pakistan Peoples Party, he said believes in the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to inculcate the sense of leadership in women and empower them by granting their due rights.

 

He also paid homage to former prime minister  Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for her vision and struggle for democracy. He also recalled his memories and vision as a companion of Shaheed Mohtarma to endow his energy and passion for the service of the masses, empowerment of women and strengthening of the nation as a democratic society.

 

Earlier in his welcome remarks, Director General Institute for Strategic Studies, Research & Analysis (ISSRA), Major General, Muhammad Raza Aizad extended gratitude to the president for extending the opportunity to the workshop participants for visiting the Aiwan-e-Sadr. 

 

He introduced the participants of the workshop which was also attended by 30 participants from Pakistan hailing from all segments of society including industry, business, think-tanks, military, academia and media had attended the workshop.

 

The workshop covered multiple subjects from transforming global order, climate change, xenophobia, perception management, economic perception to the art and Culture of Pakistan, he added. 

 

He said after attending the Workshop, the participants would become part of very strong network of over 3,000 alumni across the globe.

 

 

اسلام آباد۔13فروری  (اے پی پی): صدر مملکت آصف علی زرداری نے کہا کہ پاکستان تمام ممالک کے ساتھ مل کر باہمی افہام و تفہیم، امن اور پائیدار ترقی کے فروغ کےلئے تیار ہے۔صدر مملکت نے ان خیالات کا اظہار جمعہ کو یہاں ایوان صدر میں نیشنل ڈیفنس یونیورسٹی میں ”قیادت اور استحکام“ کے موضوع پر ہونے والی چھٹی بین الاقوامی ورکشاپ کے شرکا سے گفتگوکرتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ قیادت اور استحکام وہ بنیادی ستون ہیں جن پر قومیں اور ادارے قائم ہوتے ہیں، آج دنیا تیزی سے بدلتے ہوئے حالات سے دوچار ہے جن میں جغرافیائی و سیاسی تبدیلیاں، ابھرتے ہوئے سلامتی کے خطرات اور گورننس میں ٹیکنالوجی کا بڑھتا ہوا کردار شامل ہیں۔ صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ ورکشاپ کے اختتام پر آپ سے خطاب کرنا میرے لئے باعث مسرت ہے۔ انہوں نے شرکا کو کورس کی کامیاب تکمیل پر دلی مبارکباد پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ میں اس اہم فورم کے انعقاد پر نیشنل ڈیفنس یونیورسٹی کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتا ہوں، اس نوعیت کی ورکشاپس پالیسی سازوں، سفارتکاروں، عسکری حکام، ماہرین تعلیم اور نجی شعبے کے رہنمائوں کو ایک پلیٹ فارم پر اکٹھا کرتی ہیں۔ صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ یہ قیادت اور استحکام جیسے اہم موضوعات پر غور و فکر کے لیے ایک قیمتی موقع فراہم کرتی ہیں۔ صدر نے اس توقع کا اظہار کیا کہ یہاں حاصل ہونے والی بصیرتیں ہمارے اداروں اور معاشرے کے وسیع تر حلقوں تک پہنچیں گی۔ صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ سلامتی اب صرف روایتی تنازعات تک محدود نہیں رہی، اس میں سائبر سکیورٹی، ہائبرڈ خطرات اور معلوماتی چیلنجز بھی شامل ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موسمیاتی تبدیلی، وسائل کی کمی اور گمراہ کن معلومات سرحدوں سے ماورا مسائل ہیں جن کےلئے مشترکہ اور اجتماعی حل درکار ہیں۔ صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ یہ ورکشاپ محض ایک علمی مشق نہیں ہے، یہاں ہونے والی گفتگو کو عملی اور قابل عمل حل میں ڈھالیں، تقسیم کے بجائے مکالمے اور تصادم کے بجائے تعاون کا راستہ اختیار کریں۔ صدر مملکت نے ورکشاپ کے منتظمین، شرکا اور نیشنل ڈیفنس یونیورسٹی کا شکریہ ادا کیا جنہوں نے اس ورکشاپ کو ممکن بنایا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ میری دعا ہے کہ آپ کی گفتگو بصیرت افروز ہو، آپ کے تعاون دیرپا ثابت ہوں اور یہاں گزارا گیا وقت آپ کے لئے بامعنی اور یادگار رہے۔ ”قیادت اور استحکام“ کے موضوع پر ہونے والی چھٹی بین الاقوامی ورکشاپ میں 49 ممالک کے 69 افراد شریک ہوئے جبکہ پاکستان سمیت مجموعی شرکا کی تعداد 99 تھی۔صدر آصف علی زرداری نے شرکا کے سوالات کے جواب دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان خطہ کے کئی ممالک کے ساتھ قریبی تعاون کر رہا ہے اور باہمی تکنیکی ترقی کے ذریعے ورک فورس کو مضبوط کرنے کےلئے تیار ہے۔ انہوں نے سربیا اور پاکستان کے درمیان تعلقات کو مزید فروغ دینے کی ضرورت پر زور دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان سربیا کے ساتھ کام کرنے اور دونوں ممالک کے تھنک ٹینکس، صنعت اور اکیڈمیا کے درمیان فعال رابطوں کو بڑھانے کا خواہاں ہے۔ ایک اور سوال کے جواب میں صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ پاکستان اور دنیا کے پاس تعاون کے علاوہ کوئی چارہ نہیں کیونکہ سب ممالک ایک دوسرے سے جڑے ہوئے ہیں اور مشترکہ چیلنجز کا سامنا کر رہے ہیں۔ صدر نے کہا کہ 18 ویں آئینی ترمیم قوم کو پائیدار مستقبل اور بقاء کی ضمانت دینے کےلئے تیار کی گئی تھی کیونکہ یہ عوام کے جذبات اور قومی دولت کے حوالے سے عوام کے فیصلوں میں شراکت داری کو عزت دیتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان اس بات پر یقین رکھتا ہے کہ ہر ملک کے اپنے قومی مفادات ہیں، ہم ممالک کے درمیان جنگ اور تنازعات کی حوصلہ افزائی نہیں کرتے بلکہ مسائل کے حل کےلئے مسلسل مکالمے کو فروغ دیتے ہیں، ہمارا خطہ غیر مستحکم ہے لیکن مجھے امید ہے کہ خطے میں کوئی تنازعہ جنم نہیں لے گا۔ صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی شہید محترمہ   بینظیر بھٹو کے اس وژن پر یقین رکھتی ہے کہ خواتین میں قیادت کے جذبے کو فروغ دیا جائے اور انہیں ان کے حقوق دلوائے جائیں۔ انہوں نے سابق وزیراعظم شہید محترمہ   بینظیر بھٹو کے وژن اور جمہوریت کےلئے ان کی جدوجہد کو خراج تحسین پیش کیا۔ صدر آصف علی زرداری نے اپنی یادیں بھی تازہ کیں اور کہا کہ انہوں نے شہید محترمہ  بینظیر بھٹو کے ساتھی کے طور پر عوام کی خدمت، خواتین کو بااختیار بنانے اور قومی مضبوطی کو جمہوری معاشرے کے طور پر فروغ دینے کےلئے اپنی توانائی اور جذبہ وقف کیا۔ اس موقع پر اپنے ابتدائی خیرمقدمی کلمات میں میجر جنرل محمد رضا نے ورکشاپ کے شرکا کو ایوان صدر کا دورہ کرنے کا موقع فراہم کرنے پر صدر مملکت کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے ورکشاپ کے شرکا کا تعارف کرایا جس میں پاکستان کے 30 شرکا نے بھی شرکت کی جو صنعت، کاروبار، تھنک ٹینکس، فوج، اکیڈمیا اور میڈیا سمیت معاشرے کے تمام شعبوں سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں۔ ڈائریکٹر جنرل نے کہا کہ ورکشاپ میں متعدد موضوعات پر گفتگو ہوئی جن میں عالمی نظام میں تبدیلی، موسمیاتی تبدیلی، اقتصادی تصورات اور پاکستان کی ثقافت و فنون سمیت مختلف موضوعات شامل ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ورکشاپ میں شرکت کے بعد شرکا دنیا بھر میں موجود 3000 سے زائد سابقہ شرکا کے مضبوط نیٹ ورک کا حصہ بن جائیں گے۔
