ISLAMABAD, May 23 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday said that the IMF program had played a supportive role in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy and would also contribute to fostering economic growth in the country.

The president, in a meeting with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Director of the Middle East & Central Asia Department, Jihad Azour, highlighted the IMF’s positive role in promoting economic development in developing nations.

Discussing Pakistan’s current economic situation and the ongoing IMF program, he also acknowledged and appreciated the IMF’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic progress.

The delegation members expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s efforts for economic reforms and implementation of the IMF program, which they observed was progressing in the right direction.

The delegation members emphasized that the program had assisted in reducing inflation and fiscal deficit and strengthening Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves.

President Zardari thanked the IMF for its continued support and cooperation with Pakistan, and also appreciated the finance ministry for its efforts to improve the national economy.

The meeting was also attended by Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and senior government officials.

اسلام آباد۔23مئی (اے پی پی):صدر مملکت، آصف علی زرداری نے کہا ہے کہ آئی ایم ایف ترقی پزید ممالک کی اقتصادی ترقی میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہا ہے، پاکستان کیلئے آئی ایم ایف پروگرام سے ملک میں معاشی ترقی کو فروغ حاصل ہوگا۔

صدر مملکت نے ان خیالات کا اظہار جہاد الظہور کی قیادت میں عالمی مالیاتی ادارے کے وفد سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا جس نے جمعہ کو یہاں ایوان صدر میں ان سے ملاقات کی۔ ایوانِ صدر کے پریس ونگ کے مطابق ملاقات میں وفاقی وزیر خزانہ سینیٹر محمد اورنگزیب ، سینیٹر سلیم مانڈوی والا اور دیگر اعلیٰ حکام بھی شریک ہوئے۔

ملاقات میں پاکستان کی معاشی صورتحال اور جاری آئی ایم ایف پروگرام پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ اس موقع پر صدر مملکت نے کہا کہ آئی ایم ایف پروگرام پاکستان میں معاشی استحکام لانے میں مددگار ثابت ہوا ہے، انہوں نے پاکستان کی معاشی ترقی میں آئی ایم ایف کے کردار کو سراہا۔ وفد نے پاکستان میں معاشی اصلاحات اور عالمی مالیاتی ادارے کے پروگرام پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا۔

وفد نے کہا کہ پاکستان کیلئے عالمی مالیاتی ادارے کا پروگرام درست سمت میں گامزن ہے، آئی ایم ایف پروگرام سے پاکستان میں افراطِ زر، زرمبادلہ کے ذخائر اور مالیاتی خسارہ میں استحکام لانے میں مدد ملی ہے۔ صدر مملکت نے پاکستان کے ساتھ تعاون کرنے پر عالمی مالیاتی ادارے کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور معیشت کی بہتری کیلئے وزارتِ خزانہ اور اس کی ٹیم کے اقدامات کو سراہا۔
