Message on the occasion of International Day of Parliamentarism – 30th June, 2025

Today, we observe the International Day of Parliamentarism, reaffirming our commitment to upholding the principles of democracy, freedom, inclusivity, tolerance, and socio-economic justice.
Parliament is the sovereign representative of the people and the guardian of constitutional values. It plays an important role in shaping national policy, ensuring transparency and accountability, and defending the fundamental rights and freedoms of all citizens. Through effective legislation and oversight, Parliament can help improve public service delivery, enhance governance, and strengthen democratic institutions.

On this important day, I also commend the efforts and role of Parliament in promoting inclusive, transparent, and participatory governance. The legislature holds the responsibility of protecting democratic ideals and advancing national development.
The Parliament of Pakistan will continue to legislate for the welfare of our people, defend their rights and freedoms, and provide effective oversight to ensure public accountability.

Let us build a Pakistan where democracy flourishes, institutions are strong, and every citizen’s voice is heard and respected.

آج ہم بین الاقوامی یومِ پارلیمان مناتے ہوئے اس عزم کی تجدید کرتے ہیں کہ ہم جمہوریت، آزادی، شمولیت، رواداری اور معاشی و سماجی انصاف کے اصولوں پر کاربند رہیں گے۔

پارلیمان عوام کی خودمختار نمائندہ اور آئینی اقدار کی نگہبان ہوتی ہے۔ یہ قومی پالیسی کی تشکیل، شفافیت و جوابدہی کو یقینی بنانے اور تمام شہریوں کے بنیادی حقوق و آزادیوں کے تحفظ میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرتی ہے۔ مؤثر قانون سازی اور بھرپور نگرانی کے ذریعے پارلیمان عوامی خدمات کی فراہمی کو بہتر بنانے، طرزِ حکمرانی کو مؤثر بنانے اور جمہوری اداروں کو مستحکم کرنے میں مدد دے سکتی ہے۔

اس اہم دن کے موقع پر میں پارلیمان کی کاوشوں کو سراہتا ہوں جو شفاف، جامع اور عوامی شراکت پر مبنی طرزِ حکمرانی کے فروغ کے لیے کوشاں ہے۔ قانون ساز اداروں کی یہ ذمہ داری ہے کہ وہ جمہوری اقدار کا تحفظ کریں اور قومی ترقی کے عمل کو آگے بڑھائیں۔

پارلیمانِ پاکستان اپنے عوام کی فلاح و بہبود کے لیے قانون سازی، اُن کے حقوق و آزادیوں کے تحفظ اور عوامی احتساب کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے مؤثر نگرانی کا سلسلہ جاری رکھے گی۔ آئیے ایک ایسا پاکستان تعمیر کریں جہاں جمہوریت فروغ پائے، ادارے مضبوط ہوں اور ہر شہری کی آواز سنی اور عزت سے سمجھی جا ئے۔
