(Message on the occasion of Pakistan Day i.e., 23^rd March 2024)

On this auspicious occasion of Pakistan Day, I extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to each one of you. Today, as we commemorate the historic passage of the Pakistan Resolution on 23^rd March 1940, a day that laid the foundation for the creation of our beloved nation and an independent homeland, let us reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and reaffirm our commitment to a prosperous and united Pakistan.

As we revisit the pages of history, we are reminded of the vision and determination of our forefathers. The Pakistan Resolution of 1940 marked a crucial turning point, setting the course for the establishment of Pakistan on 14^th August 1947. Today, we honour the commitment and sacrifices made by the Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his companions, who worked tirelessly towards transforming Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal's dream into reality.

The journey since our independence has been marked by significant achievements across various domains. Our armed forces, civil administration, police, and law enforcement agencies have, with unwavering commitment, ensured the safety, security, and sovereignty of our nation. Their triumphant role in the two-decade-long war against terrorism, rapid response to the call of duty in times of natural disasters, and contribution to peacekeeping missions worldwide stand out as our unflinching commitment to global peace and peaceful coexistence.

Let us also recognize the unparalleled sacrifices of our Kashmiri brethren, both during the Pakistan Movement and in the ongoing struggle for the freedom of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). The people of IIOJK are enduring the worst form of repression and state-sponsored terrorism at the hands of Indian occupation forces, aggravated by the Hindutva agenda, exemplified by the unilateral revocation of Article 370 and 35A. The key to durable peace in South Asia is the resolution of the dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolutions. Pakistan, on its part, stands committed to extending all kinds of moral and diplomatic support until the oppressed people get their right to self-determination.

Similarly, Pakistan is deeply concerned over the indiscriminate killing of innocent Palestinians and persistent attacks on educational institutions and hospitals by the Israeli Defence Forces. Pakistan remains steadfast in its principled support for the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous state of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In the spirit of Pakistan Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to democracy, justice, and equality. I urge each one of you to participate in the nation-building process actively; embracing the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Together, united, we shall overcome obstacles and chart a course towards a better and brighter future for our beloved Pakistan.

کا یوم ِ پاکستان ، 23 مارچ 2024ء ، کے موقع پر پیغام

          میں یومِ پاکستان کے پُرمسرت موقع پر آپ سب کیلئے نیک خواہشات  کا اظہار اور دلی مبارکباد پیش کرتا ہوں۔ آج ہم تاریخی قرارداد ِپاکستان کی منظوری کی یاد منا رہے ہیں  جب 23 مارچ 1940ء کو ہماری عزیر قوم اور ایک آزاد وطن کی تعمیر کی بنیاد رکھی گئی۔آئیے ، آج ہم اپنے گزشتہ سفر پر غور کریں، اپنی کامیابیوں کا جشن منائیں، اور ایک خوشحال اور متحد پاکستان کیلئےاپنے عزم کا اعادہ کریں۔

          آج اگر ہم تاریخ کے اوراق پر نظر ڈالیں تو ہمارے آباؤ اجداد کے وژن اور عزم کی یاد تازہ ہوتی ہے۔ 1940 ءکی قرارداد ِپاکستان ہماری تاریخ میں ایک اہم موڑ کی حیثیت رکھتی ہے ۔ اس قرارداد سے 14 اگست 1947 ء کو پاکستان کے قیام کا راستہ ہموار ہوا۔ قائدِاعظم محمد علی جناح اور ان کے ساتھیوں نے علامہ ڈاکٹر محمد اقبال کے خواب کو حقیقت میں ڈھالنے کیلئے انتھک محنت کی  اور آج کے دن ہم ان کے عزم اور قربانیوں کا اعتراف کرتے ہیں۔

          آزادی سے لے کر اب تک کے سفر میں ہم نے مختلف شعبوں میں نمایاں کامیابیاں حاصل کیں۔ ہماری مسلح افواج، سول انتظامیہ، پولیس اور قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں نے غیر متزلزل عزم کے ساتھ، ہماری قوم کی حفاظت، سلامتی اور خودمختاری کو یقینی بنایا ۔ دہشت گردی کے خلاف دو دہائیوں پر محیط جنگ میں اُن کا فاتحانہ کردار، قدرتی آفات کے دوران فرض کی پکار پر تیز ردِعمل، اور دنیا بھر میں امن مشنز میں ہمارا کردار عالمی امن اور پرامن بقائے باہمی کیلئے ہمارے غیر متزلزل عزم کا نمایاں اظہار ہے۔

          آج ہم اپنے کشمیری بھائیوں کی  تحریک ِپاکستان کے دوران اور غیر قانونی بھارتی زیرِ تسلط جموں و کشمیر کی آزادی کیلئے جاری جدوجہد میں دی جانے والی بے مثال قربانیوں کو بھی تسلیم کرتے ہیں۔ مقبوضہ جموں و کشمیر کے عوام قابض بھارتی افواج کے ہاتھوں بدترین جبر اور ریاستی سرپرستی میں ہونے والی دہشت گردی کا سامنا کررہے ہیں۔ ہندوتوا کے ایجنڈے سے متاثرہ آرٹیکل 370 اور 35 اے کی یکطرفہ منسوخی اِس کی ایک مثال ہے۔ اقوام ِمتحدہ کی سلامتی کونسل کی قراردادوں کے مطابق اس تنازع کا حل ہی جنوبی ایشیا میں پائیدار امن کی ضمانت ہے۔ پاکستان مظلوم کشمیری عوام کو ان کےحق ِخودارادیت کی فراہمی تک ہر قسم کی اخلاقی اور سفارتی مدد فراہم کرنے کیلئے پرعزم ہے۔

          اسی طرح ، پاکستان کو اسرائیلی ڈیفنس فورسز کی جانب سے معصوم فلسطینیوں کے اندھا دھند قتل ، تعلیمی اداروں اور ہسپتالوں پر مسلسل حملوں پر گہری تشویش ہے۔ پاکستان 1967ءسے قبل کی سرحدوں کے مطابق القدس شریف میں دارالحکومت پر مبنی ایک آزاد، پائیدار اور ملحقہ فلسطینی ریاست کے قیام کیلئے اپنی اصولی مؤقف پر قائم ہے ۔

          آئیے ، آج ہم یوم پاکستان کی روح کے مطابق  جمہوریت، انصاف اور مساوات کیلئے اپنے عزم کا اعادہ کریں۔ میں آپ سب سے محنت، دیانتداری اور ہمدردی کی اقدار اپناتے ہوئے ملک کی تعمیر کے عمل میں بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لینے کی اپیل کرتا ہوں۔ مجھے یقین ہے کہ ہم متحد ہو کر رکاوٹوں کو عبور کریں گے اور اپنے پیارے پاکستان کیلئے ایک بہتر اور روشن مستقبل کی جانب گامزن ہوں گے۔
