Message on International Human Rights Day- 10th December 2025

Today, we reaffirm our commitment to uphold dignity, equality and justice for every individual, regardless of race, religion, gender, language or social status. This day reminds us of our resolve to promote and protect human rights for all. Our religion places great value on human dignity, respect for others and the freedom and equality of all people.

The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees freedom to every citizen, without distinction of caste, creed or colour. The Government of Pakistan remains committed to protecting and promoting human rights and will continue its efforts to safeguard the liberty, dignity and self-esteem of all citizens. We recognise the need to focus on vulnerable and marginalised groups and are working to strengthen the legal, economic and social frameworks needed to protect their rights.

Our commitment must be reflected in our actions. We must foster a culture of respect, tolerance and mutual dignity. We must empower our people, particularly women, children, minorities and persons with disabilities, to take part fully in national life. We must work with civil society, human rights defenders, national institutions and international partners to uphold our shared values. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned Pakistan as a country where people of every faith and background could live together in harmony and dignity. It is our collective duty to honour that vision and build a more inclusive society.

I call on government institutions, civil society, the media, non-governmental organisations and citizens to play their part in protecting and promoting human rights in our country. I also commend the United Nations for marking this day globally.

On this International Human Rights Day, let us renew our pledge to defend human dignity, advance equality and build a Pakistan where every citizen lives free from fear, oppression and discrimination.

May this day inspire us, as a nation and as a global community, to uphold the promise of human rights, today and in the years ahead. May Allah guide our efforts to protect the vulnerable and marginalised.

کا انسانی حقوق کے بین الاقوامی دن پر پیغام

آج کے دن ہم ہر فرد کی عزت، مساوات اور انصاف کے تحفظ کے عزم کی تجدید کرتے ہیں، چاہے اس کا تعلق کسی بھی نسل، مذہب، جنس، زبان یا سماجی حیثیت سے ہو۔ یہ دن ہمیں اس عزم کی یاد دلاتا ہے کہ ہم سب انسانی حقوق کے فروغ اور تحفظ کیلئے کوششیں جاری رکھیں۔ ہمارا مذہب انسانی وقار، دوسروں کے احترام اور تمام انسانوں کی آزادی اور مساوات کو بے حد اہمیت دیتا ہے۔

آئینِ پاکستان ہر شہری کو، بغیر کسی ذات، نسل، مذہب یا رنگ کے امتیاز کےآزادی کی ضمانت دیتا ہے۔ حکومتِ پاکستان انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ اور فروغ کیلئے پُرعزم ہے اور تمام شہریوں کی آزادی، وقار اور خود اعتمادی کے تحفظ کیلئے اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھے ہوئے ہے۔ ہم اس ضرورت کو تسلیم کرتے ہیں کہ کمزور اور پسماندہ طبقات پر خصوصی توجہ دی جائے اور ان کے حقوق کے تحفظ کیلئے قانونی، معاشی اور سماجی ڈھانچے کو مزید مضبوط بنایا جائے۔

ہمارا عزم ہمارے عمل میں جھلکنا چاہیے۔ ہمیں احترام، برداشت اور باہمی وقار کا ایک ایسا ماحول پیدا کرنا ہوگا جہاں ہر فرد  خود کو محفوظ اور بااختیار محسوس کرے۔ ہمیں اپنے لوگوں بالخصوص خواتین، بچوں، اقلیتوں اور خصوصی افرادکو قومی زندگی میں بھرپور شرکت کے قابل بنانا ہوگا۔ ہمیں سول سوسائٹی، انسانی حقوق کے علمبرداروں، قومی اداروں اور بین الاقوامی شراکت داروں کے ساتھ مل کر اپنی مشترکہ اقدار کا تحفظ کرنا ہوگا۔ قائدِ اعظم محمد علی جناح نے پاکستان کو ایک ایسی ریاست کے طور پر تصور کیا تھا جہاں ہر مذہب اور پس منظر سے تعلق رکھنے والے لوگ ہم آہنگی اور وقار کے ساتھ رہ سکیں۔ اس وژن کا احترام کرنا اور ایک زیادہ جامع معاشرہ تشکیل دینا ہماری مشترکہ ذمہ داری ہے۔

میں سرکاری اداروں، سول سوسائٹی، میڈیا، غیر سرکاری تنظیموں اور شہریوں سے اپیل کرتا ہوں کہ وہ ملک میں انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ اور فروغ میں اپنا کردار ادا کریں۔ میں اقوام متحدہ کو بھی اس دن کو عالمی سطح پر منانے پر خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتا ہوں۔

آئیے آج  انسانی حقوق کے بین الاقوامی دن پر اس عہد کی تجدید کریں کہ ہم انسانی وقار کا دفاع کریں گے، مساوات کو فروغ دیں گے اور ایک ایسا پاکستان بنائیں گے جہاں ہر شہری خوف، جبر اور امتیاز سے آزاد زندگی گزار سکے۔

 دعا ہے کہ یہ دن ہمیں بطور قوم اور بطور عالمی برادری اس بات کی طرف راغب کرے کہ ہم ہمیشہ انسانی حقوق کی بالادستی کو برقرار رکھیں۔ الّلہ تعالیٰ ہمیں کمزور اور پسماندہ طبقات کے تحفظ کی کوشش میں کامیابی عطا فرمائے۔
