Message On International Youth Day , 12 Augast 2026

​​I extend my warm greetings to the youth of Pakistan and join the international community in celebrating their energy, resilience, creativity and commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable future.

​This year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," reminds us that though young people come from diverse backgrounds yet they share common aspirations for quality education, decent employment, innovation, equality and meaningful participation in society. It is not only the duty of the state but our collective responsibility to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to realise their full potential.

​The exuberance, creativity and resilience of our youth are among Pakistan's greatest strengths and their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas have the power to transform communities and society at large. By ensuring their meaningful engagement in education, employment, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, civic participation and decision-making, we can and we must harness this immense potential for the greater good of society. Empowering youth to actively contribute to national development is more than an investment in their future but actually it is an investment in Pakistan’s future.

​With nearly 67 per cent of Pakistan's population under the age of 30, our youth represents the nation's greatest strength. The aspirations, talent and leadership of young women in particular are essential for our socio-economic development. By expanding opportunities for girls and young women in education, skills development, entrepreneurship, science, technology and leadership, we can unlock the full potential of our nation.

This day also serves as a reminder that if challenges such as lack of educational opportunities, high youth unemployment rate and digital literacy gaps are not addressed in a timely manner, the long term consequences are bound to ripple across the whole society including economic stagnation, brain drain, crimes proliferation, human trafficking, mental health issues and even civil unrest.

​The Government of Pakistan remains committed to empowering youth. The Prime Minister's Youth Programme is the Government of Pakistan's flagship initiative for youth empowerment, aimed at harnessing the country's demographic dividend by providing young people with opportunities in education, skills development, employment, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, sports and civic engagement. 

I encourage our young women and men to pursue excellence, embrace innovation, uphold the values of integrity, compassion and tolerance and actively contribute to the progress of our country. 

Let us transform our common aspirations into shared achievements and build a stronger, more inclusive and prosperous Pakistan.

کا نوجوانوں کے عالمی دن کے موقع پر پیغام

میں پاکستان کے نوجوانوں کو دلی مبارکباد دیتا ہوں اور عالمی برادری کے ساتھ مل کر ان کی توانائی، استقامت، تخلیقی صلاحیتوں اور ایک پُرامن، خوشحال اور پائیدار مستقبل کی تعمیر کے عزم کو بھی سراہتا ہوں۔

اس سال نوجوانوں کے عالمی دن کا موضوع "مختلف حالات، مشترکہ خواہشات" ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ نوجوان خواہ کسی بھی پس منظر سے تعلق رکھتے ہوں، معیاری تعلیم، باعزت روزگار، جدت و اختراع، مساوات اور معاشرے میں شرکت ان کی مشترکہ خواہشات ہیں۔ یہ صرف ریاست کا فرض نہیں بلکہ ہم سب کی اجتماعی ذمہ داری ہے کہ ہر نوجوان کو اپنی صلاحیتوں کو بروئے کار لانے کا بھرپور موقع فراہم کیا جائے۔

ہمارے نوجوانوں کا جوش، تخلیقی صلاحیت اور استقامت پاکستان کے لئے ایک قوت ہیں۔ ان کے زاویۂ نگاہ اور اختراعی خیالات معاشروں کو تبدیل کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں۔ تعلیم، روزگار، کاروبار، رضاکارانہ سرگرمیوں اور فیصلہ سازی کے عمل میں نوجوانوں کی شمولیت کو یقینی بنا کر ہم معاشرے کی بہتری کے لیے ان کی بے پناہ صلاحیتوں سے استفادہ کر سکتے ہیں۔ نوجوانوں کو قومی ترقی میں فعال کردار ادا کرنے کے لیے بااختیار بنانا محض ان کے مستقبل میں ہی نہیں بلکہ درحقیقت پاکستان کے مستقبل میں سرمایہ کاری ہے۔

پاکستان کی تقریباً 67 فیصد آبادی 30 سال سے کم عمر افراد پر مشتمل ہے، اس لیے ہمارے نوجوان قوم کی سب سے بڑی قوت ہیں۔ خصوصاً نوجوان خواتین کی امنگیں، صلاحیتیں اور قیادت ہماری سماجی و معاشی ترقی کے لیے نہایت اہم ہیں۔ لڑکیوں اور نوجوان خواتین کے لیے تعلیم، ہنرمندی، کاروبار، سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی اور قیادت میں مواقع فراہم کر کے ہم اپنی قوم کی بھرپور صلاحیتوں کو بروئے کار لا سکتے ہیں۔

یہ دن ہمیں اس امر کی بھی یاد دہانی کراتا ہے کہ اگر تعلیمی مواقع کی کمی، نوجوانوں میں بے روزگاری کی بلند شرح اور ڈیجیٹل خواندگی کے خلا جیسے چیلنجز کا بروقت تدارک نہ کیا گیا تو ان کے طویل المدتی اثرات پورے معاشرے میں پھیل سکتے ہیں، جن میں معاشی جمود، افرادی قوت کا بیرونِ ملک منتقلی کا رجحان، جرائم میں اضافہ، انسانی اسمگلنگ، ذہنی صحت کے مسائل اور معاشرتی بے چینی بھی شامل ہیں۔

حکومتِ پاکستان نوجوانوں کو بااختیار بنانے کے لیے پُرعزم ہے۔ وزیراعظم یوتھ پروگرام حکومتِ پاکستان کا نوجوانوں کو بااختیار بنانے کے حوالے سے فلیگ شپ پروگرام ہے، جس کا مقصد ملک کے نوجوانوں کو تعلیم، ہنرمندی، روزگار، کاروبار، ڈیجیٹل جدت، کھیلوں اور شہری سرگرمیوں میں مواقع فراہم کرتے ہوئے ملک کی آبادیاتی صلاحیت سے فائدہ اٹھانا ہے۔

میں اپنی نوجوان بیٹیوں اور بیٹوں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتا ہوں کہ وہ بہترین کارکردگی کے حصول کی کوشش کریں، جدت و اختراع کو اپنائیں، دیانت داری، ہمدردی اور برداشت کی اقدار کو فروغ دیں اور ملک کی ترقی و خوشحالی میں فعال کردار ادا کریں۔

آئیے! اپنی مشترکہ خواہشات کو مشترکہ کامیابیوں میں تبدیل کریں اور ایک مضبوط، جامع اور خوشحال پاکستان کی تعمیر کریں۔
