Education is an important factor in human progress and the basic right of every citizen of Pakistan. It is considered to be closely related to the economic and social development of a country. Without substantial investment in human resources, no country can achieve sustainable economic development. The literacy rate is an important indicator to measure the level of education. Its consolidation has a profound impact on other important indicators of prosperity. Education in a broader sense improves the capabilities of individuals and the capacity of institutions and becomes a catalyst for the closely interrelated economic, social, cultural, and demographic changes and national development.

Education is a powerful driver of development, and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability. It delivers large, consistent returns in terms of income, and is the most important factor to ensure equality and inclusion. For individuals, education promotes employment, earnings, health, and poverty reduction. For societies, it drives long-term economic growth, spurs innovation, strengthens institutions, and fosters social cohesion.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned the education system of Pakistan as the driving force behind all the national goals. In the first National Education Conference held in Karachi, it was decided that the education system would work according to the national aspirations of Pakistan and it would be truly related to the needs of the people of Pakistan. Presently, the younger generation is uncertain about their future and many of them are leaving Pakistan for a brighter and more prosperous future in developed countries. We need to impart them with marketable education and provide them equal opportunities to excel in their career. We should also focus on the enrolment of out-of-school children.

On this day, Pakistan vows to raise the literacy rate in compliance with the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development by providing school access to all children and improving the education system by providing marketable skills to youth and enabling them to earn a respectable livelihood with modern technology.

کا عالمی یوم ِ تعلیم  ، 24 جنوری 2023ء ، کے موقع پر پیغام

تعلیم انسانی ترقی کا ایک اہم عنصر اور پاکستان کے ہر شہری کا بنیادی حق ہے۔ اس کا کسی بھی ملک کی معاشی اور سماجی ترقی سے گہرا تعلق ہے۔ انسانی وسائل میں خاطر خواہ سرمایہ کاری کے بغیر کوئی بھی ملک پائیدار اقتصادی ترقی حاصل نہیں کر سکتا۔ شرح خواندگی تعلیم کی سطح کو ماپنے کا ایک اہم اشاریہ ہے اور  شرح ِخواندگی میں اضافے کا خوشحالی کے دیگر اہم اشاریوں پر  بھی گہرا اثر پڑتا ہے۔ تعلیم وسیع تر معنوں میں افراد اور اداروں کی استعداد اور صلاحیتوں میں اضافہ کرتی ہے اور اقتصادی، سماجی، ثقافتی، اور آبادیاتی تبدیلیوں اور قومی ترقی میں بھی تیزی لاتی ہے۔

  تعلیم ترقی کا ایک طاقتور محرک ہے اور غربت کم کرنے ،  اور صحت، صنفی مساوات، امن اور استحکام یقینی بنانے کے مؤثر ترین ذرائع میں سے ایک ہے۔ تعلیم کے آمدنی پر بڑے اور مستقل اثرات مرتب ہوتے ہیں ، اور  یہ مساوات اور شمولیت یقینی بنانے کیلئے بھی سب سے اہم عنصر ہے۔ تعلیم  افراد کے لیےروزگار اور صحت میں بہتری اور غربت میں کمی کا باعث بنتی ہے۔ معاشروں میں تعلیم کی بدولت طویل مدتی اقتصادی ترقی ،  جدت اور اختراعات فروغ پاتی ہیں ، ادارےمضبوط ہوتے ہیں ، اور سماجی ہم آہنگی کو فروغ ملتا ہے۔

قائداعظم محمد علی جناح پاکستان کے تعلیمی نظام کو تمام قومی مقاصد کے حصول کیلئے ایک اہم محرک تصور کرتے تھے۔ کراچی میں ہونے والی پہلی قومی تعلیمی کانفرنس میں یہ فیصلہ کیا گیا  تھا کہ نظام ِتعلیم پاکستان کی قومی امنگوں کے مطابق کام کرے گا اور اس کا پاکستانی عوام کی ضروریات سے حقیقی معنوں میں تعلق ہوگا۔ اس وقت نوجوان نسل اپنے مستقبل کے بارے میں غیر یقینی کا شکار ہے اور بہت سے نوجوان ترقی یافتہ ممالک میں ایک روشن اور خوشحال مستقبل کی خاطر پاکستان کو چھوڑ رہے ہیں۔ ہمیں ان کو قابل قدر تعلیم فراہم کرنے اور اپنے کیرئیر میں سبقت حاصل کرنے کے مساوی مواقع فراہم کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔ ہمیں اسکول سے باہر بچوں کے داخلوں میں اضافے پر بھی توجہ دینا ہوگی۔

  آج کے دن، پاکستان تمام بچوں کو اسکولوں تک رسائی فراہم کر کے 2030 ء کے پائیدار ترقی کے ایجنڈے کے تحت شرح خواندگی میں اضافہ کرنے کا  عزم کرتا ہے ۔ ہم اس بات کا بھی عہد کرتے ہیں کہ جدید ٹیکنالوجی کی مدد سے نوجوانوں کو باعزت روزگار حاصل کرنے کے قابل بنائیں گے ، انہیں مارکیٹ کی ضروریات کے مطابق قابل ِ قدر مہارتیں  فراہم کریں گے اور نظام ِ تعلیم  میں بہتری  لائیں گے۔
