Message on the 58th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party- 30th November 2025

On the 58th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party, we pay tribute to our Founder Chairman, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, whose vision, courage and sacrifices strengthened Pakistan’s democratic foundations and inspired generations.

Throughout its history, the PPP has risen to meet the central challenges of its time. When Pakistan faced authoritarian rule, the PPP stood firm as the party of democratic resistance and led the struggle for the restoration of people’s rights. The Party has consistently worked to stabilise the democratic system, foster unity and keep the political process on track.

It was under the leadership of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto that Pakistan received its first consensus Constitution in 1973, a national covenant that continues to guide our democracy. The PPP also takes pride in its role in strengthening the federation, initiating reforms in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, laying the foundations of the country’s nuclear programme and advancing landmark reforms in land rights, labour protections, education and social justice.

From the MRD and ARD movements to the Charter of Democracy, the Eighteenth Amendment and the National Action Plan, the PPP has remained central to Pakistan’s democratic evolution.

Since its inception, the PPP has been the voice of workers, peasants, women, minorities and all marginalised communities. Their inclusion and empowerment have shaped our political direction and remain at the heart of our mission.

As we celebrate this day, let us renew our commitment to democracy, social justice, equality and the empowerment of all citizens, particularly women and minorities, whose participation is essential to a peaceful and pluralistic future for Pakistan.

I urge all party workers and supporters to uphold democratic unity, protect the federation and work for a tolerant and forward-looking Pakistan.

Long live the Pakistan Peoples Party.

پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے 58ویں یومِ تاسیس کے موقع پر ہم اپنے بانی چیئرمین شہید ذوالفقار علی بھٹو اور شہید محترمہ بينظير بھٹو کو خراجِ عقیدت پیش کرتے ہیں، جن کے وژن، ہمت اور قربانیوں نے پاکستان کی جمہوری بنیادوں کو مضبوط کیا اور کئی نسلوں پر اثر انداز ہوئے۔
اپنی پوری تاریخ میں پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی نے دور کے مرکزی چیلنجز کا مقابلہ کرنے کے لیے ہمیشہ جدوجہد کی۔ جب پاکستان پر آمریت کا سایہ تھا، پیپلز پارٹی نے جمہوریت کی مزاحمت کرنے والی پارٹی کے طور پر ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا اور عوامی حقوق کی بحالی کی جدوجہد کی قیادت کی۔ پارٹی نے ہمیشہ جمہوری نظام کو مستحکم کرنے، اتحاد کو فروغ دینے اور سیاسی عمل کو درست راستے پر رکھنے کے لیے کام کیا ہے۔
شہید ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کی قیادت میں پاکستان نے 1973ء میں متفقہ آئین حاصل کیا، ایک قومی میثاق جو آج بھی ہماری جمہوریت کی رہنمائی کر رہی ہے۔ پیپلز پارٹی کو وفاق کے استحکام، گلگت بلتستان اور آزاد جموں و کشمیر میں اصلاحات کے آغاز، ملک کے ایٹمی پروگرام کی بنیاد رکھنے اور زمین، مزدور،تعلیم اور سماجی انصاف سے متعلق تاریخی اصلاحات پر فخر ہے۔
تحریک بحالیِ جمہوریت (MRD) اور اتحاد برائے بحالیِ جمہوریت (ARD) سے لے کر چارٹر آف ڈیموکریسی، اٹھارویں ترمیم اور نیشنل ایکشن پلان تک، پیپلز پارٹی پاکستان کے جمہوری ارتقا میں مرکزی کردار ادا کرتی رہی ہے۔
اپنے آغاز سے ہی پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی مزدوروں، کسانوں، خواتین، اقلیتوں اور تمام پسے ہوئے طبقات کی آواز رہی ہے۔ ان کی شمولیت اور بااختیار بنانا ہماری سیاسی سمت کا تعین کرتا رہا ہے اور آج بھی ہمارے مشن کا مرکز ہے۔
آیئے آج کے دن ہم جمہوریت، سماجی انصاف، مساوات اور تمام شہریوں،خصوصاً خواتین اور اقلیتوں کو بااختیار بنانےکے عزم کو ایک بار پھر تازہ کریں، کیونکہ ان کی فعال شمولیت پاکستان کے پُرامن اور تکثیری مستقبل کے لیے ناگزیر ہے۔
میں تمام پارٹی کارکنوں اور سپورٹروں سے کہنا چاہوں گا کہ وہ جمہوری اتحاد کو برقرار رکھیں، وفاق کی حفاظت کریں اور ایک روادار اور ترقی پسند پاکستان کے لیے کام کریں۔
