Message on Baisakhi  - 14 April 2026

​On the wonderful and joyous occasion of Vaisakhi/Baisakhi, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Hindu and Sikh communities in Pakistan and around the world.

​Vaisakhi/Baisakhi serves as a significant religious and cultural milestone, marking the commencement of the Rabi harvest. This season represents a period of immense joy for the farming community as they reap the fruits of their labour. It is a time characterised by gratitude and reflection on the enduring values of faith, unity and humanitarian service. In many parts of Pakistan, Vaisakhi/Baisakhi is also marked with respect by neighbours and local communities, reflecting a shared social space shaped by mutual regard.

​The Father of the Nation explicitly articulated a policy of equality, freedom and security for all citizens, regardless of their religious or ethnic background. This fundamental principle is formally enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan, which guarantees equal rights and comprehensive protection to all communities within the state.

The government continues to facilitate Hindu and Sikh pilgrims and ensure the upkeep and security of gurdwaras across the country, particularly during important religious occasions.

​I reaffirm my commitment to ensuring equal rights for all communities across the country, regardless of their belief, caste or creed. The government remains dedicated to upholding the fundamental rights, safety and dignity of all minority communities. We are deeply committed to the socio-economic welfare of our minorities and remain earnest in our duty to protect their lives and property.

I pray for peace, prosperity and harmony in Pakistan and beyond. May this day foster happiness and inspire renewed hope among all, including Hindu and the Sikh communities.

خوشیوں اور مسرتوں سے بھرپور تہوار بیساکھی/ویساکھی کے موقع پر، میں پاکستان اور دنیا بھر میں مقیم ہندو اور سکھ برادری کو دلی مبارکباد پیش کرتا ہوں۔
بیساکھی/ویساکھی ایک اہم مذہبی اور ثقافتی سنگِ میل ہے جو ربیع کی فصل کی کٹائی کے آغاز کی علامت ہے۔ یہ موسم کسانوں کے لیے بے حد خوشی کا باعث ہے کیونکہ وہ اپنی محنت کا پھل حاصل کرتے ہیں۔ یہ موقع شکرگزاری، غور و فکر اور ایمان، اتحاد اور انسانیت کی خدمت جیسی پائیدار اقدار کی تجدید کا بھی پیغام دیتا ہے۔ پاکستان کے کئی علاقوں میں بیساکھی/ویساکھی کو ہمسایوں اور مقامی برادریوں کی جانب سے بھی احترام کے ساتھ منایا جاتا ہے، جو باہمی احترام پر مبنی مشترکہ سماجی فضا کا عکاس ہے۔
بابائے قوم نے ایک ایسے ملک کا تصور پیش کیا تھا جو تمام شہریوں کے لیے، بغیر کسی مذہبی یا نسلی امتیاز کے، مساوات، آزادی اور تحفظ کے اصولوں پر قائم ہو۔ یہ اصول آئینِ پاکستان میں باقاعدہ طور پر شامل ہیں، جو تمام برادریوں کو مساوی حقوق اور تحفظ کا ضامن ہے۔
حکومت ہندو اور سکھ یاتریوں کی سہولت کے لیے اقدامات جاری رکھے ہوئے ہے اور ملک بھر میں گردواروں کی دیکھ بھال اور سکیورٹی کو بھی یقینی بناتی ہے، خصوصاً اہم مذہبی مواقع پر۔
میں ملک بھر کی تمام برادریوں کے مساوی حقوق کے تحفظ کے اپنے عزم کا اعادہ کرتا ہوں، خواہ ان کا تعلق کسی بھی عقیدے، ذات یا مسلک سے ہو۔ حکومت اقلیتی برادریوں کے بنیادی حقوق، سلامتی اور وقار کے تحفظ کے لیے پُرعزم ہے اور ان کی سماجی و معاشی فلاح و بہبود کے فروغ کے لیے اپنی ذمہ داریاں پوری کرتی رہے گی۔ ان کی جان و مال کا تحفظ ریاست کی ایک اہم ذمہ داری ہے۔
میں پاکستان اور دنیا بھر میں امن، خوشحالی اور ہم آہنگی کے لیے دعاگو ہوں۔ میں امید کرتا ہوں کہ یہ دن سب کے لیے، خصوصاً ہماری ہندو اور سکھ برادری کے لیے، خوشیوں کا باعث بنے ۔
