Islamabad, November 6, 2025: Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, in his message on Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu (Martyrs of Jammu Day), paid glowing tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in 1947 for their identity and freedom.

The Acting President said that the tragedy of November 6, 1947, remains a dark chapter in history when thousands of unarmed Kashmiri Muslims were massacred for upholding their right to self-determination. He said the sacrifices of the Jammu martyrs symbolise an enduring struggle for freedom, dignity and justice.

Mr Gilani said the atrocities committed by the Dogra forces and extremist elements, resulting in the killing of over 200,000 Kashmiri Muslims and the forced displacement of many others, constituted a grave act of genocide that the world must not forget.

He called on the international community, the United Nations and human rights organisations to recognise the 1947 Jammu massacre as genocide and to hold India accountable for its continuing human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people, the Acting President said Pakistan would continue to advocate for their right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He emphasised that the sacrifices of the martyrs of Jammu will continue to inspire generations and serve as a timeless reminder that no struggle for freedom is ever in vain.

اسلام آباد، 06 نومبر 2025: قائم مقام صدرِ مملکت سید یوسف رضا گیلانی نے یومِ شہدائے جموں کے موقع پر اپنے پیغام میں جموں کے شہداء کو خراجِ عقیدت پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام کی قربانیاں آزادی، وقار اور انصاف کی جدوجہد کی لازوال مثال ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ 6 نومبر 1947ء کا سانحہ برصغیر کی تاریخ کا ایک المناک باب ہے جب ہزاروں نہتے کشمیری مسلمانوں نے اپنی شناخت اور حقِ آزادی کے لیے جانوں کا نذرانہ پیش کیا۔

قائم مقام صدر نے کہا کہ جموں کے شہداء کی قربانیاں اس بات کا ثبوت ہیں کہ ظلم و جبر کے ذریعے کسی قوم کی آواز کو دبایا نہیں جا سکتا۔ ڈوگرہ افواج اور انتہا پسند عناصر کے ہاتھوں دو لاکھ سے زائد کشمیری مسلمانوں کا بہیمانہ قتل اور لاکھوں افراد کی جبری ہجرت نسل کشی کی ایک ایسی دردناک مثال ہے جو عالمی ضمیر کو جھنجھوڑتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مقبوضہ جموں و کشمیر میں بھارت کے غیر انسانی اقدامات، انسانی حقوق کی پامالی اور آبادیاتی تناسب میں تبدیلی کی کوششیں اقوامِ متحدہ کی قراردادوں کی کھلی خلاف ورزی ہیں۔

سید یوسف رضا گیلانی نے عالمی برادری سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ 1947ء کے جموں سانحے کو نسل کشی کے طور پر تسلیم کرے اور بھارت کو اس کے جرائم پر جواب دہ ٹھہرائے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان ہمیشہ کشمیری عوام کی منصفانہ جدوجہد کے ساتھ کھڑا ہے اور ان کے حقِ خود ارادیت کی حمایت سیاسی، اخلاقی اور سفارتی سطح پر جاری رکھے گا۔ انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ پاکستان ہر عالمی فورمز پر کشمیری عوام کی آواز بلند کرتا رہے گا، کیونکہ شہدائے جموں کی قربانیاں ہمیں یاد دلاتی ہیں کہ آزادی کی راہ میں دی گئی کوئی قربانی رائیگاں نہیں جاتی۔
