OUTGOING AMBASSADOR OF SPAIN PAYS FAREWELL CALL ON THE PRESIDENT:

President Mamnoon Hussain has stressed on the need for making greater efforts to enhance bilateral trade between Pakistan and Spain through frequent exchange of trade delegations. The President said that Pakistan has investor friendly policies and urged Spanish companies to invest in Pakistan in various sectors including energy, education, agriculture and infrastructure.
The President said this while talking to outgoing ambassador of Spain in Pakistan Mr. Javier Carbajosa Sanchez who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The President emphasized the great importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with Spain both bilaterally and as a European Union member. The President called for more people to people contacts and exchange of delegations in trade, education and culture in order to further strengthen bilateral relations and develop more understanding between the people of two countries.
The President highlighted that the over 70,000 strong Pakistani community living in Spain acts as a living bridge between the two nations thereby further augmenting bilateral relations. The President expressed confidence that Pakistan’s relations with Spain would grow further in future to the mutual benefit of both countries.
The outgoing Spanish ambassador appreciated that Pakistan has one of the most investor friendly policies in the region and hoped that Spanish companies would take advantage of it and invest in different sectors of the country. Mr. Javier Carbajosa Sanchez also informed that his government has decided to reopen the commercial office in the Spanish embassy in Islamabad which will help to further enhance trade between the two countries.
The President commended the services of the outgoing ambassador for further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and wished the outgoing envoy success in his future life and assignments.
Mr. Javier Carbajosa Sanchez thanked the President for the support he was extended by the Government of Pakistan during his stay as ambassador in Pakistan.
