President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the future of Pakistan is bright and now its path to progress cannot be halted.
The President said this while addressing the 52ndPassing out Parade of Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA) at Karachi on Monday. Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael was also present on the occasion. It is pertinent to mention here that President Mamnoon Hussain is the first President of Pakistan to have attended the Passing out Parade of PMA. Upon arrival, smartly turned out contingent of PMA presented guard of honour to the President.
The President said that in the present age extraordinary changes have occurred in the fields of defence and economy across the world due to which importance of Pakistan has increased manifold and the international community is looking toward the country with high hope. “Therefore, it is imperative that Pakistan improves its performance in trade by sea and related fields and for this purpose PMA should enhance its professional linkages with the top Marine Academies of the world so that the future needs of excellent and trained manpower could be met”, remarked the President.
The President stated that Pakistan was on the right track up to 1970s but afterwards the country suffered great loss owing to corruption adding that now the time has come that the whole nation get united for eradication of corruption. The President said that shipping industry inPakistan was growing fast but it also suffered due to corruption but now the revival of this industry has become inevitable so that the national economy could be stabilized. “Pakistan Marine Academy can play an important role in this regard”, stated the President.
The President said that fate of Pakistan is linked with the completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and energy projects therefore no hurdle will be tolerated in its way and if someone poses a hurdle then the nation should reject such elements.
The President stated that the ongoing operation in Karachi would continue till complete restoration of peace.
