President Mamnoon Hussain emphasized the great importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with Mauritius as the “Gateway to Africa”. The President called for expanding trade with Mauritius in various areas of mutual benefit in order to realize the true trade potential between the two countries.
The President said this while talking to Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Mauritius Maj. Gen. (Retd) Raza Muhammad who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday.
Congratulating the High Commissioner on his new assignment, the President called for making efforts to use Mauritius as a launching-pad for enhancing trade and commercial relations with the African Union (AU) countries. The President stressed on expanding Pakistan’s trade and economic relations with other concurrently accredited countries i.e. Comoros, Madagascar and Seychelles.
The President wished the High Commissioner-designate success in his new assignment.
